Driffield Junior School

On Wednesday evening, we held the first of our termly hockey tournaments at Driffield School.

Five schools were represented from the cluster, with nine teams taking part.

Teams were split into two tiers. In tier one, Burton Agnes 1, Driffield Junior 1, Hutton Cranswick, Kilham and Nafferton 1 played a round robin tournament, with the top two playing off in the final and the next two playing off for third and fourth.  

Nafferton 1 emerged triumphant beating Hutton Cranswick in the final, with Driffield Junior finishing third, Kilham fourth and Burton Agnes 1 in fifth position.

In tier two, Burton Agnes 2, Driffield Junior 2, Driffield Junior 3 and Nafferton 2 played in a group, playing each other twice.  Driffield Junior 2 were eventually crowned champions, unbeaten during the evening. Nafferton 2 finished second, Driffield Junior 3 third and Burton Agnes 2 fourth.

A big thanks to the four umpires from Driffield School, who made the evening run smoothly.

Thanks also to the teachers, who gave up their time towards the end of a busy half term and to the supporters (parents, grandparents and siblings) for cheering the children on.
