On Tuesday evening, our Y5 Football team travelled to Market Weighton to play Mount Pleasant Junior School in two fixtures.
On a pitch not conducive to crisp passing, Driffield set about their task, looking nervous early on.
However, a goal after five minutes set them at ease and Driffield began to play the better football. The opposition soon equalised, but just before half time, Driffield went into the lead again. Driffield went 3-1 up soon after the break before Mount Pleasant got a late consolation goal. A good first win.
In the second game, Mount Pleasant came out determined, however Driffield were again the more dominant team but were unable to score. It took until the last kick of the game for Driffield to get ahead and complete the double over their opposition.
A big well done to the boys and many thanks to the parents and grandparents for their support.
